Carl Sjulin began his career at West Gate Bank in 1983 as a teller while a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. After college, Carl received a Rotary International scholarship to the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia where he received his MBA. He went on to Nebraska Law School and worked in Washington, DC on the House Banking Committee and practiced law with Rembolt Ludtke law firm. In 2002, Carl followed in his father Paul’s footsteps and became President of West Gate Bank.
Carl has served on many charitable and non-profit boards including Madonna Hospital, Lincoln Children's Museum, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools, Lincoln Community Foundation and Community Development Resources, a CDFI focused on affordable housing.
Carl is proud to have accepted several awards on behalf of the bank including LIBA Business of the Year, BBB Integrity Award, and the Federal Home Loan Bank Community Leader Award.
Carl and his wife, Renee, have two children. Their daughter, Megan, works at the Runza corporate office and has a young daughter who occupies much of Carl’s free time. Their son, CJ, is a CPA and attorney in Los Angeles and serves on the West Gate Bank Board of Directors.Jeremey Shiers joined West Gate Bank in 2016. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Kearney with a degree in Business Administration and brings more than 20 years of financial experience to his role at West Gate Bank. He is responsible for the financial management and oversight of the growing Mortgage Division at West Gate Bank that includes Secondary Market Interest Rate management, Portfolio Lending solutions, and other strategic initiatives undertaken by West Gate Bank Mortgage.
John Arrigo started at West Gate Bank in 1996 as a commercial lender following six years of middle market business lending at a Nebraska regional bank. John is well-versed on all varieties of commercial real estate lending, middle market business banking, small business banking, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Tax Increment Financing, and residential construction lending. His primary role at West Gate Bank is the Chief Lending Officer of commercial lending, and he serves on the bank's Board of Directors.
John has been involved in many community organizations including Vice Chair of the YMCA of Lincoln, board member of Pius X High School and has served in many loan-church relation roles. In addition to his Finance Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, he is a graduate of the Colorado Schools of Banking.
Jeanette Moeller joined West Gate Bank in 2019 as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. She has worked in the banking industry for nearly 25 years and has held various finance positions. Prior to entering the banking industry, she worked in public accounting where she earned her CPA license and specialized in auditing financial institutions.
Originally from Auburn, Nebraska, Jeanette received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and her Master’s degree in Professional Accountancy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is a graduate of the Colorado Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado.
Jeanette is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Deborah Webster has been with West Gate Bank for 35 years. As the longest tenured employee, she has worked in a variety of roles within the bank, most notably with the Operations department. Currently, she is responsible for overseeing Deposit Operations.
Deborah has served her community in many ways with various organizations, her church and bank-sponsored community involvement projects.
Lindsay Anderson began her professional journey at West Gate Bank in 2005 as a teller. Over the years, she navigated through various business lines, eventually leaving the organization in 2013. She returned in 2016 as the Vice President of Information Technology. Her expertise led to her promotion to SVP, Chief Technology Officer in 2021.
Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in Marketing with minors in Finance and Communication. She has also pursued post-graduate courses in Network Management at Southeast Community College, and advanced studies in Bank Technology Management and Bank Technology Security at the Graduate Schools of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin.
Margaret (Margie) Burkholder began her West Gate Bank career in 1999. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Concordia University. She has also completed numerous bank training courses and schools, including the Nebraska/Kansas Schools of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking in Wisconsin. Margie is an alumnus of the Nebraska Bankers Association Leadership program and Leadership Lincoln. In addition, she is involved in the Department of Nebraska Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary #3606, American Legion Auxiliary Post #355 (Denton), and various other veteran service organizations. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Lincoln Children’s Museum, Lancaster County Crime Stoppers and Fresh Start.
Cheryl Meyer joined West Gate Bank in 2006. A graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, she has been in the financial services industry in Lincoln for over 35 years.
Prior to joining West Gate Bank, Cheryl worked for a national insurance company and was a Certified Public Accountant with a national accounting and consulting firm.
Cheryl is a Junior Achievement classroom volunteer, neighborhood American Heart Association annual volunteer and an active member of Southwood Lutheran Church.
Tana Wagener began her career at West Gate Bank in 2010. She completed the Human Resources Generalist Certification at Creighton and the Human Resource Management School at the Graduate School of Banking in Madison. Tana is a volunteer board member for Lincoln Literacy, serves as Secretary on the Executive Committee for Lincoln Literacy, is a member of the Bank Training Advisors for the Nebraska Banker’s Association’s Education Advisory Committee, as well a participant in bank-sponsored community activities.
