Location: Lincoln, Nebraska
Primary Job Role: Responsible for identifying, acquiring, and growing existing and new profitable relationships with businesses, investors, and individuals within the framework of a unique team culture. Responsible for all aspects of lending within a portfolio, including sales, maintenance of current bank customers, underwriting, approval, closing and all other related aspects. High priority is placed on the ability to adapt to the lending team’s best business practices and its unique approach to all activities.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilize a uniform approach to sourcing and servicing current and prospective borrowers.
Manage a portfolio of business in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
Excellent history of credit skills with the need to adapt them to the bank’s culture.
Direct customers to other profit centers of the bank where mutual benefit is probable.
Obtain and analyze financial data in a manner consistent with bank standards and policies to allow accurate and complete information for quality loan decisions.
Display high ethical standards within and outside of the bank by following the code of excellence.
Participate in service activities for the purposes community betterment, personal and leadership development and business networking.
Desire and ability to handle leadership roles critical to the success of the department.
Carry out other duties that may be assigned or requested.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
5-10 years commercial and/or commercial real estate lending experience (some of this time could have been in a credit analysis role).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting (equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree). Strong accounting knowledge and experience in commercial and industrial lending is a plus.
Must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau loan originator qualification requirements.
Must meet the requirements to obtain a Class II lenders license from the Nebraska Department of Banking.
Highly developed analytical and underwriting expertise; credit quality valued over business development.
Relationship management skills adaptable to the bank’s culture for key commercial, small business and personal relationships.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and business development skills.
Self-starter with the drive to achieve measurable results and to affect enhancements.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail pertaining to the core job functions.
Experience with Window-based computer programs and ability to quickly adapt to the computer systems critical to the lender functions.
Maintain strict confidentialities related to the bank, customers and other stakeholders that apply.
A strong desire to work as a member of a team and develop as an individual.
Experience with Navigator and Credit Quest.
A predisposition to fiscal conservatism.
A balance of excellent interpersonal and analytical skills required to be a well-rounded lending officer.
OFFICE ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dirt, temperatures and the like. Typically sitting at a desk or table, intermittently standing or stooping and occasional lifting of 20 lbs. or less.
