Do you give cash at the holidays?
If you prefer to give new, crisp bills as a gift for the holidays, you might want to plan ahead this year. Due to the pandemic, the Federal Reserve has changed their policies for bank’s ordering “Holiday Cash” and we are unable to order new cash. So, while we can still provide you with bills, they won’t necessarily be the crisp bills you might be used to.
Here are some ideas to do in place of cash:
- Give a Visa gift card—we offer Visa gift cards that can be used at most places Visa debit cards are accepted. Because it’s a prepaid card, spending is limited to the amount of money on the card. Contact any of our branches with questions or to purchase a Visa gift card.
- Turn bills crisp at home. Watch this YouTube video.
- Make a donation in the name of the gift recipient—especially this year, many non-profits are struggling to provide the valuable services so many rely on them for. Honor your loved ones with a gift donation to one of their favorite charities or non-profit.
- Give store gift cards—gift cards for goods and services are always a great idea! Many are available for purchase and shipping online. So while giving cash might have provided flexibility for the recipient, gift cards can also be utilized to still give the flexibility to purchase whatever is needed at the designated store.
